Students Participate in Shortened Spring Internships

(L - BxCHS Interns Stacy and Natasha with Katie Lamboy / R - SLC Intern Emily)

CURB welcomed 3 new student interns to our team for the spring. First, Natasha Tachie and Stacy Mensah came to us from Bronx Collaborative High School where they are in their senior year. As a requirement for graduation, the students must complete a mandatory senior internship for hands-on real word experience.

CURB was also joined by Emily Pressley, a senior at Sarah Lawrence College. Emily is participating in the College’s fieldwork course “Exploring the Work of Community-based Agencies: Linking Theory and Practice”. Through a combination of writing, reading, reflection and direct work with a Not-For-Profit connected to SLC, students explore and learn about community based work and the variety of social issues that influence the work of their Not-For-Profit.

While their on-site internships were cut short due to COVID-19 related closings, we thank all of the students for the time they were able to put in. Emily continues to work with staff remotely, and is assisting with gathering online resources for teachers.
